Volunteer Opportunities


Volunteers are always appreciated and can help maintain the existing parks or can get truly involved with future development. The current 5-Year Parks and Recreation Plan is available online on township web site (also on this web site).

The Suttons Bay Township Parks and Recreation Committee is looking for members! This volunteer group meets monthly at the Township Office and holds workdays at our parks throughout the year. I you are interested in joining, stop by the Township Office during office hours for more details.

In addition, we have special needs at each of the parks and some items are listed below. If you would like to donate your time, please reach out to the Township Office for more information.

1) Herman Park- Yearly installation/removals of all court windscreens, pruning around the pond, picking up trash, maintaining dog poop stations, cleaning off picnic benches under the pavilion, etc.

Dog Park- the Suttons Bay Dog Park Ambassadors are a group of volunteers that help maintain the new Dog Park. We are always looking for help keeping the park safe and clean. If you are interested on being on the clean-up rotation, email the Chairperson at: lizmahaney@aol.com

2) Vic Steimel Park- Clean metal picnic benches/benches and pick-up any loose trash or debris around the beach area.

3) Graham-Greene Park- Clean wood picnic tables and pick up any loose trash or debris.

4) Ice Rink Park- Clean off wood picnic tables and metal benches. Pick up any loose trash or debris. Assist with season start set-up as well as take-down of equipment.

5) 45thParallel Park- Suggested items to be discussed at a later date.


Any other suggestions can be directed to the Parks Manager. Please leave them with the clerk at the Township Office.
